Consultant, Independent                                                                                2000 – Present

·        Mentored one-on-one with in-house developers to create and implement a .NET financial management system for ELCA Board of Pensions. Resulting project architecture became the corporate standard for all future development.

·        Lead Architect and Project Manager for Anderson Performance Improvement Company on e-commerce .NET migration project. Mentored team of 4 developers on UML Architecture and Design methodologies and .NET Best Practices.

·        Architected Insurance Quote application for Farmer’s Home Group, and mentored staff in .NET Best Practices.

·        Worked on a $45MM .NET development project for insurance provider Allianz Life of North America to enable real-time transaction processing in core agent services.

·        Project architected several complex web applications for Allianz Life, used by more than 100,000 field agents to track production and commission information.

·        Performed web-based software integration between customer communications software Kana Response and CRM software Onyx OEP for Techies.com.  The middleware, programmed with DHTML, ASP, and MS SQL Stored Procedures, allows sales staff to view any outstanding support issues before contacting a client.

·        Partnered with a Chicago-based firm to provide Lucent 911 Data Systems a web front-end to an existing client/server law enforcement application. The product, which uses the most advanced browser technologies available including DHTML, XML, CSS, and Remote Data Services (RDS), allows police officers the ability to report incidents to their base station via a wireless Internet connection.

·        Developed an online event management and ticket reservation system, Eden Ticket Systems, targeting second-tier ticketed venues, using ASP, ActiveX, and SQL Server.  The e-commerce application, which allows customers to select and purchase tickets online, logged 20,000 tickets and $87,000 in transactions in its first two seasons (see http://www.edentickets.com).

Web Applications Developer, LogicBay Corporation                       1999 – 2000

·        Researched the burgeoning E-Learning industry and developed a Learning Management System (LMS) prototype in Visual Basic, handling such details as student registration, personalized learning paths, and assessment tracking.  Instructional Designers used the application to generate online E-Learning solutions.

·        Performed due diligence on corporate acquisitions by analyzing and reporting on technical work products such as databases and application code.

·        Worked with a development team to construct an Online Learning University (OLU) for Freightliner Corporation, using proprietary learning management software and a combination of DHTML languages.

·        Designed and implemented ASP-based sales force applications on LogicBay’s corporate intranet, streamlining the proposal approval process, and allowing executives to forecast revenues and resource allocation.

I/T Technical Associate, Cargill Inc.                                                           1998 – 1999

·        Provided web-based decision support systems to Cargill’s business managers through combination of Lotus-based Intranets, Visual Basic COM Objects, and HTML/CSS markup languages.

·        Designed an Intranet for Cargill's Testing and Measurement Lab which included report cataloging, inventory management, and web-based service requests.

Also developed Occupational Health & Environment Safety website, though it has since been redone.

·        Quality Assured multimedia applications for Cargill using Macromedia Authorware.
